Dr. Carl Speer

Carl Speer, DPM is a board-certified podiatrist and podiatric surgeon with advanced training in sports medicine, forefoot, rearfoot, infection, and diabetic reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Speer received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Miami, followed by two years as a Research Associate at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Miami, FL. His research focused on prostate cancer and was published in multiple international oncology medical journals. Realizing his passion for direct patient care, Dr. Speer then attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, FL where he graduated with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) in 2016.

Dr. Speer’s postgraduate training was quite extensive. He completed a three-year residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he served as chief resident, and was then selected to the Southeast Permanente Foot and Ankle Trauma and Reconstructive Surgical Fellowship in Atlanta, GA. This esteemed, high-quality fellowship offers broad-based clinical experience and is one of a selective list of programs officially recognized by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. After completing this fellowship, Dr. Speer and his family returned to Pensacola to “grow their roots” along the Emerald Coast.
During his spare time, Dr. Speer enjoys surfing, running, cycling, swimming, and spending time with family on Pensacola Beach. He and his wife Nicole remain active in the Triathlon and Cycling community.

Happy doctor with patient
Tonya H.
The staff and doctor were very understanding of my issues and suggested going with a less invasive measure first. They made me feel extremely comfortable.
Rita R.
I am a HCP and was seen in this office. I was so impressed by the service I was provided with. Friendly, professional, educational. I can’t recommend this practice enough…
Robert F.
Great service, went in right on time, no long wait in the waiting room. Dr Speer gave a quick and thorough examination, explaining the problem and laid out my options. Once I decided which way to go he was able to start my treatments right then. So all in all I received great service from a knowledgeable doctor with a friendly and efficient staff
Cathy F.
Dr. Speer and his staff were very efficient and answered all my questions. The office is very welcoming.
Jacob N.
From the minute I walked in the door to the minute I left, they were so nice and helpful. The doctor was amazing and very knowledgeable. They treated my painful ingrown toe nail the same day. I was very happy with the help I received. I am looking forward to a great follow up.
Rosa L.
The staff in the office were very helpful and nice. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. Dr Spear was very knowledgeable and reassuring about the procedure. So glad I drove all the way from Mobile,Al to see him.
Louise N.
What began with terrible pain and a thought that I might need surgery was quickly corrected by Dr. Speer, with an Xray followed by a honest and correct diagnosis of a self inflicted problem that would clear up by itself if I were to wear proper shoes instead of running around barefoot all the time. The staff was likewise professional and congenial. Very pleased all intend to remain a patient of record at Emerald Coast Foot and Ankle Center.
Ferris F.
Very professional and informative about my toes. The doctor told me the best treatment for my feet and how to get my toenails done
Keith G.
Fantastic patient service, from the time I walked in to the time I left.

Thanks Mekena, Brenna and Lauren. And thanks to Dr Speer, he gave me an option of not going under for surgery to straighten out my pinky toe.
Ruth
